Tayfun Pirselimoglu wrote and directed this drama about the depth to which a man will go to pull himself out of poverty. Resat scrapes together a living wholesaling bootleg DVDs for a crime syndicate on the outskirts of Istanbul, and he shares a shabby flat with his mother. Resat wants more out of life but isn’t sure how to get it until he crosses paths with Emin, who owns a meat processing plant. Emin wants to be rid of his wife and is willing to pay Resat to kill her, though Emin perversely insists that he cares to much about her to give the job to someone who would cause her pain. Is Resat desperate enough to kill to make life easier for himself and his mother? Pus was an official selection at the 2010 Berlin International Film Festival.
